Hey Jonah, why can't Porsche and Cadillac run on LMh regulations? LMh and lmdh both are hypercars right? Then why, ? Might be a dumb question because I'm new to WEC.

The failure of the Toyota GT-One was a great example of cosmic justice. The GT-1 cars were supposed to be modified road legal cars, but all manufacturers (Porsche and Mercedes) cheated by designing and building prototypes with a few features shared with road cars: but Toyota took it to extremes. When FIA objected that the car did not have a luggage space (which all road legal cars must have) Toyota claimed the gas tank could be used to store luggage... any half decent inspector would have laughed at this, but somehow the GT-One was homologated.

This is why Le Mans is my favorite race in the World Endurance Championship.

While I agree having AWD helps greatly in wet conditions, arent the rules that the LMH cars can only activate the front electric motors for AWD above a certain speed? The biggest advantage for AWD in poor conditions comes from low speed being able to have more traction coming out of slower corners

but LMDH cars also have 4wd, the diference is that the hybrid sistem is not a stock one. peugot also have LMH and they were really bad or lamborgini

9:07 Lamborhini's flowin water problem inside the cockpit is only a minor problem. Like you said the driver successfully fixed it.The Italian Car Manufacturer proved to be a STRONG COMPETITIVE RACING TEAM in their debut in the Hyper Car Class of the Le Mans 24 Hours Race! Finishing in 10th and 13th place is a good result for its race debut, an admirable and promising finish for Lamborghini in its first attempt in prototype racing!

I think the issue with the leaking roofs was maybe intentional engineering. I suspect that they relied on aerodynamics to clear water around the car, so when the safety car limits the speed, the aero wasn't as effective. Just my theory

very great summary, way better than all the highlight videos, sadly you had to avoid using moving footage for the most part, would've been 10/10 with fitting race footage imho! great stuff!

It was a weird Le Mans. #50 got problem with the door so they pit and that strategy make them win. But #7 make too many mistakes, spin and weirdly slow after pitstop

Thanks FJ, a good race although sitting in the stands watching over 4hrs of safety car wasn’t fun. For the record, Andre Lotterer drove his minimum 6 hours for Porsche Penske #6 and did not complete a single lap in the second half of the race. He had no apparent health issues. Is he still quick enough for Porsche?

Ferrari af course #50 won by 2% and controversy because of that pit

If BoP wasn't enough to make current Le Mans results suspect, the push from the #51 Ferrari to the #8 Toyota which pretty much decided the race made it definitely unsavory.

The only reason the Bentley Speed 8 existed was because the VW group exploited the memories of the early Bentleys that won 5 out of the first 10 editions of Le Mans. They deserved to be in the list.

15:52: An interesting post script here. One the drivers in the United Autosports car was 19 year old Nolan Siegel. Zak Brown is one of the owners of United and he is also the team principal on the McLaren F1 and US Indy car teams. A few days after the race, Brown let another driver go and signed Siegel to run one his Indy Cars apparently under a multi year contract.

I feel like all LMDH should have 4WD too. No wonder the Ferrari got P1 ams 2 in the first lap because 4WD have superior speed than RWD that the Porsche and Cadillac have
